How much do you charge?

The price varies depending on the job being done but most of the smaller jobs can be done within 1 hour for this hourly fee I charge £40 this is my minimum charge this will not be charged if I am unable to do the job.

How do you charge for materials?

Most jobs like hanging a picture or fitting a shelf would only require a few screws and raw plugs so for this there is no charge to the customer, I will have a selection of screws and raw plugs to do most jobs.

But for other jobs that might require half a box of screws and some timber then this is charged back to the customer which I will provide proof of costs via a receipt. If any of the jobs require me to research the materials outside of my payed hours then there will be 10% added on to the cost of the materials to reflect any time spent to research and purchase these materials.

Once I have a few basic details I will give you an estimate of how long the Job will take and a time and date of when I can do the Job. If there are element to the job that I need the customer to make a decision on then I like to try and do this before I start the job, Then if you are happy to go ahead I will book you in.

What if the job takes longer than the estimated time?

Most of the smaller jobs are easier to estimate these are the ones that can normally be done within an hour or two and you wont be charged anymore than my estimated Price, but there may be a few of the bigger jobs that sometimes when started other elements out of my control might increase the time it takes to do the job, but generally I will discuss a rough time frame with the customer before starting but most times I am done quicker than the time provided and the customer makes a saving on the original time provided.

But a few key factors that helps keep everything flowing smoothly.

• If you have any dogs or pets try to keep these away from the area I am working

• Any flatpack furniture that needs constructing if able try to have this in the room that the piece will be staying with enough room for the construction to run smoothly

• Any internal painting make sure you have the paint ordered and delivered before I start the job, Check that you have enough paint and remember you will probably save money if you spend a bit more on quality paint and hopefully do the job in two coats than if you would if you purchased thin cheap paint that will more than likely need three coats

• Any shelves you want fitted or pictures you want hung try and have an idea before hand of the height you would like these at and have them in front of the wall you would like them, check that the picture frame has some rope attached at the back so you can inform me if that needs to be purchased before hand.

All these little things can help me do the job quickly which saves you money.

When do you pay?

Payment is to be made on the same day for the smaller jobs and once completed we accept Cash or Card if you require an invoice thats not a problem this can be done and sent at the same time as completion. For any of the larger Jobs (over 3 days work) I will send over an invoice which needs to be payed upon receipt.

Also Fit It Thanet is not VAT registered.

Is there anything I will need to do the job?

• I will need access to free parking or notified were the closet free parking is.

• Some jobs might require water so I will need access to that and somewhere to clean the tools after.

• Most of my tools are battery powered but I do have some that might require power so that might be needed.

• Toilet and wash facilities.

Is something goes wrong with the job will you come back and fix it?

Fix it Thanet will return for a period of 60 days at our cost to rectify any works that is a direct result of our workmanship.
