Send the item, not just the shop name
A retailer link or product number helps me check the size and work involved. Include the number of items, postcode and any access or space restrictions. If the item is already part-built or damaged, send photos before arranging a visit.
Getting ready for assembly
Have the furniture, instructions and all supplied fittings at the address. Clear a suitable work area and mention stairs or limited access. For tall furniture, wall securing and any additional fixings need assessing against the manufacturer’s instructions and your wall.
Furniture from the shops you use
IKEA, Argos, Habitat, Wayfair, Dunelm, Next, John Lewis, B&Q, The Range, JYSK and other retailers. Send the actual model for assessment. This is an independent service.
Your questions answered
What does assembly cost?
There is a £40 minimum call-out charge. Send the product links, number of items and postcode for the total job price. The minimum is not an extra £40 added on top of an agreed quote.
What information should I send?
A retailer link or product number, number of items and your postcode. For odd jobs, send a short list and photos. Add a preferred day if you have one.
Is messaging better than calling?
Yes. WhatsApp or text is best while I’m working, and I reply between jobs. Calls and voicemail are welcome too: leave your name, number and a short description.
Which furniture brands can you build?
I assess flat-pack assembly from IKEA, Argos, Habitat, Wayfair and other retailers. Send the actual item so I can check the work involved. Fix It Thanet is an independent service.
